Police Denies Raid Rumor on Val, Election Eve in Lagos

An earlier scare of possible arrest of people moving about from 8pm in Lagos seems most unlikely. Clearing the air on the rumour, t he Lagos State Police Command has denied the story that it will carry out general raiding in the state on Thursday and Friday before elections. The Police Spokesman for the command, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Chike Oti, said on Thursday that they have no intention of carrying out any raids in Lagos state. He explained further that,  “the writer went further to warn people not to keep late nights on the aforementioned days due to the so called ‘raid’. “In view of the development, the Command wishes to unequivocally state that the information did not emanate from it and should be regarded as untrue and people should go about their lawful businesses,” Oti said in a statement. 2019 Polls: Saraki Confident Of PDP's Victory.

Bukola Saraki, Senate President on Wednesday boasted that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will win the 2019 presidential elections. Saraki made this comment in Ilorin at a meeting with PDP members who came from the 16 local government areas of the state. He also expressed his confidence that his new party would emerge victorious in all the local government areas of Kwara State. Saraki said that the victory of PDP at both federal and state levels would be beneficial to all the members in the state.
