With the rains in most city, comes heavy traffic. Lagos certainly is not strange to this. But one would have thought that with the queues at petrol stations, their would be less traffic. How's end of your commute like in your area?

Cap Mining Royalties at 7.5% - Zambia Chamber of Mines

Zambia’s Chamber of Mines has advised that mineral royalties should be capped at 7.5 percent in the 2020 budget. It argued that the 2019 mining tax regime had raised the tax burden on mines to unsustainable and noncompetitive levels. Africa’s No.2 copper producer increased its sliding scale for royalties of four to six percent by 1.5 percentage points and introduced a new ten percent tax when the price of copper exceeded 7,500 dollars per tonne. The scale is adjusted so that royalties are paid at higher levels as commodity prices climb and are reduced as prices fall. The mineral royalty tax should also be tax-deductible for mining firms as making it non-deductible as Zambia does amounts to taxation on revenue not received, it said. 39 New Lassa Fever Cases Across 3 States - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 39 new cases of Lassa fever, recorded between February 25 and March 3 in six states.  Source :  allAfrica.com NCDC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja. Ihekweazu adds that 1,447 suspected cases had been reported from 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from January 1 to March 3. He said that 420 of the figure were confirmed positive, 15 probable and 939 negative. According to him, from the onset of the 2019 outbreak, there have been 93 deaths in confirmed cases. Case fatality ratio in confirmed cases is 22.1per cent. Problem Areas The NCDC boss said that Edo, Ondo, Bauchi, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Kaduna, Kwara, Benue, Rivers, Kogi, Enugu, Imo, Delta, Oyo, Kebbi, Cross River states and FCT, had recorded at least one confirmed case in 66 Local Government Areas.
